When we call out, crying in the wilderness of our lives, we often wait for some big booming voice from the heavens to validate, to strengthen, to encourage us but when we do we miss the messengers He sends us that tell us exactly what we are praying for…
We miss the message of hope delivered by those who stand alongside us in our times of trial.
We let the worries of the day pile up on our shoulders while we ignore the peace we find in the rays of a new dawn.
We stay so wound up with the troubles of our lives in the knotted, mangled mess inside our heads that we forget to pay attention to those who help to untangle the worries.
We forget that every creature continues despite the storms, that the earth continues to heal despite what we do to it and despite the natural disasters that come at times.
And most of all we miss the messages of hope and promise delivered by those who stand alongside us in our times of trial.
In all those things are the answers to our prayers…
We simply have to choose to listen.
To everyone who has stood alongside me in my wilderness,
Who has spoken truth, love, hope, and faith when I felt I had none,
Who has reminded me of my strength when I felt nothing but weakness,
Who has seen what I have been unable to,
And who has been there when I felt utterly bereft and alone,
You’ve at times been the answer to my prayers…
When I hear this song, I think of you and am beholden.
Thank you.
“You Say”
Lauren Daigle, Look Up Child, 2018
Songwriter: Paul Mabury, Lauren Ashley Daigle, & Jason Ingram
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory, (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Oh I believe (I), yes I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh I believe (oh)
the way
is one
day at a time
the winds
did ring
that chime
and i slept
those ill months
away
best always Gwen~
