Simple Pleasures ~ Gratitude

Today lets not think so deeply because not everything worth being thankful for is deep and complex. Think about a food or drink that always helps you to feel grounded, peaceful, calm, or blissful:

I am not talking about thinking, “mmmm pizza,” because you really like pizza. I’m thinking more along the lines of something that always puts you in a better frame of mind. Not comfort food in the sense of fattening and happy making food full of carbs and sugars for when you’re depressed, but comforting food in terms of its presence as a mandatory part of your blissful self care rituals when you’re in the mood to just feed your soul or sit down to a favorite task.

Earl Grey with cream and charcuterie.

Mmmmm… Heaven!

Sometimes simple pleasures like a favorite drink or snack help to ground us and bring us back to neutral again.

At the end of the day, don’t forget to share your gratitude with others, whether you choose to come back and comment here, to write your thoughts in a journal, to send your feelings to a friend or loved one, or to create change in your world to pursue fulfillment and contentment, think back on the prompt and build in yourself gratitude for the blessings that have been showered upon you!

Come back tomorrow for more gratitude mindfulness.

  1. A cup of black Lapsang Souchong, the smoky bonfire aroma of it is actually the same as when I have a real bonfire to clear out all the scrub and trimmings from shrubs I’ve piled up in the garden. It does the same clearing job, by association I think, for my brain but in a cup of tea.

    1. For some reason this was filtered and I just found it.

I’ve never had that kind of tea! It sounds positively yummy and very apropos for chilly autumn nights. I need to clear out some scrub and trimmings piled high in my headspace. It is time for a fire…

      1. Ah. Well I am glad to be unfiltered then. 😉
You may have missed some things. I’ll leave you to follow my gravatar rather than the project which has also been thrown on the bonfire.
