Hoped For

The attacks

Of little men

Who wield with

Deeds and words

Leave a woman

Feeling like

Her voice

Was never heard

“See me,” she cries

With unheard tears,

“Not just my pretty face,

“And listen to my heart,”

She pleads

But little men

Ignore her truth

And tear her soul apart

But

There comes another

With heart so kind

Who weaves with words

Their souls entwined

In a mystic, magic web

Where knowing just is

And all secrets are his

No matter what happens, I never can seem to write the hurt without the hope,

The dark without the light,

The broken without the mending,

The sadness without the joy.

It doesn’t matter if it is truth or hoped for in faith, there’s no telling the story without speaking life, it would seem.
