Tonight my soul shines brightly
At the promise of seeing
The sun rise on an autumn day
When I may finally see
The harvest brought to being
.
Through a hard, bitter winter
Ages and ages long
At times I thought
I’d never hear
Spring’s sweet lilting song
.
Then springtime came into bloom
And grass began to grow
Another age and a half
I waited and watched
In the warm sun all aglow
.
The summer hit
And I’ve worked hard
To feed and fertilize
While each new budding fruit
I’ve reveled in and guarded
.
And now the time approaches
To see what has been grown
Will autumn’s fruits
Of all I’ve done
Have their abundance shown?
.
I’ve waited patiently with hope,
With faith, with joy, with love
Yearning to taste the juices
Of each soft tender fruit
And the dulcet things thereof
I’m doing the happy dance…just so you know

I agree, when living life one tiny step at a time, the world slows down to a crawl and you enjoy more of the smallest parts. May your fall bare great fruits and wondrous colors.
Your words are evermore so elegant. Thanks for your beauty. 🌹
