Imperfect bookends
Both suited to one another
And completely contradictory
Sit upon my bookshelf
Exemplifying the duality
Of the yin and yang
One dark and unwilling
To find happiness and peace
In its twisted existence
The other bright and unwilling
To live without them
Both are victims of the same
Catastrophic fall from grace
When the world was shaken
And gravity took hold
Yet where one seems to be
A shattered lump of anguish
The other shines forth
Broken beautifully
And there the two sit
On my shelf
Opposites
Holding up both ends of
My library
word
upon
the life
in print

Yup…knew it…blew me away! Wonderful, Gwen.
Interesting how we each approached it from different styles yet we both made them introspective.

How else would we have made them, Wulf?

I for one, am very grateful for both. Without one, I have no heart to see with. Without the other, no legs to stand.🌹

I love this. The necessity of duality. The completeness that comes from differences. It takes all of each, and essentially each other, to keep it all together. Really good!!!!
