If there is anything I have learned in this crazy life of mine it is that it is a whole lot easier to be miserable when you listen to the creeps and haters, to the whiners and the victims, and to anything that feeds your soul negativity. My life, by all accounts, is one punchline of shit-filled news and absolute tomfoolery after another.
I’m a modern day Job…

I’ve got so many conditions that could kill me today that I don’t ever count on tomorrow. Yet, most of the time I’ve got a smile on my face and a smart response for anything slung my way. I sass-off with a wink and a grin to the degree that when I’m not smiling even casual acquaintances know something is seriously wrong. And then when my spirit and smile falter, I can always count on those that matter coming alongside to lend me some faith, hope, and strength and I know I can always find some new anthem to bring back the sass.
There are three requirements to becoming an anthem:
1. It makes me want to dance.
2. It makes me want to sing along.
3. It is impossible for me to have anything but a smile on my face when I listen to it.
This weekend I spent some quality time with myself getting my head around some things and reminding myself of a few other things. With all the thinking and feeling I was doing, this was the song that kept coming back to me until it soaked so deeply into my aching soul that I couldn’t help but smiling again. The refrain says it all:
