This is Me

  1. As I read about your life in the last 15 years, I realize that this has been going on such a long time for you. Long before I reintroduced myself into your life. I will say that, you are definitely full of vinegar. You can’t be held down. Life isn’t always what we thought it was going to be, but you seemed to not only cherish it, but fight the bad. With your husband by your side, I think you might be able to beat this nasty creature created by so many different elements. Thanks for the whole story. I hope it helps clear your head and heart by sharing with all of us. If there is ever anything I can do, “ole aunt Joan” is here. Flamingos have become my favorite dancing birds! They have heart. Give yourself a hug from me. Love yourself and husband.

  2. Good grief.
You know, when I have to explain my MS (and a stroke I had six years ago) to people worried about ‘How I am’, I often say ‘Well, it’s really not that bad you know..’ and they reply ‘Oh, brave you..’

I’m not ‘brave’, I just deal with what happens to me in life like anyone else. Yeah, irreverent and slightly black humour helps, but the pragmatism you need to just get on the best you can is probably comes out more in those that have to live with it than those that are pleased not to have to.

Great respect for dealing with it all, I am sure there are many missing curses, frustrations and tears from this explanation but it is still as powerful as you have been anyway.
(PS. Don’t tell anyone I am being empathetic, it’ll spoil my image…)

    1. Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome is the main blood disease I have but I’ve also developed idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. We only are treating the APS though because the risk of bleeding is nothing compared to the risk of clotting.
